2008 Patagonia Holiday Catalogue

PatagoniaSpreadThe latest Patagonia catalogue just hit mailboxes which features an image of mine shot in Chile last summer. Patagonia’s annual holiday catalogue traditionally features photos from the region in Southern Chile/Argentina that the company is named after. My image was captured while covering the 2008 Patagonian Expedition Race — one of the longest and most difficult adventure races in the world. Although the race involved no sailing, the event organizers arranged for the international media covering the race to sail aboard the S/V Victory to the final race checkpoint. We boarded the schooner in the world’s southernmost town, Puerto Williams, on Isla Navarino and sailed along the Beagle Channel to Yendegaia Bay in the remote Darwin Range.
